What I Wore: 3-28-12

Sorry, this post was halfway finished when my computer turned off-- again.  I seem to have the worst luck with computers.  I do not know much about them, neither do my parents.  All I know is I like to blog.

Yes!  My pink hair!  I do not think it photographs as pink as it is in person.  I am now convinced I need to have real pink hair.  Not just temporary chalk stains.  Opinions?

Sunday's Style: 2-25-12

My hair is pink.  It is a very faded light uneven pink, but is still pink.  Thank you festival of colors.  This is one of the outfits I bought for my birthday!  Isn't it so cute?  I bought so much navy, so that will be a very common color on the blog for a while.

I am thinking I need to add more pink in my hair-yes?

The Festival of Colors

This was my first year at the festival of colors!  I had so much fun.  There are certain things that I love, and this includes a lot of them!  I love people, big crowds, festivals, rainbows, bright things, and throwing stuff at people!

It comes once a year in Utah.  This is actually a religious event that has become a huge thing for just about everyone. There is music playing, and a dude preaching some religion about peace and love and other fun stuff.  Not bad at all.

Unfortunately, the colors aren't so easy to get off.  My armpits and chest are stained green, my fingers are blue, my face is purple, and my hair is orange-pink.  What a nightmare.  Overall, was it worth it?  We will find out tomorrow after the damage is assessed.

Bye Bye Braces

I got my braces off!  I had to post some unattractive pictures of me with them to remember the horrible memories.

It's the Little Things

This is such an incredible week!  Where on earth could I start?

  • I got my braces off.  Post coming soon!
  • I turned sixteen yesterday!
  • For my birthday my mom and I went shopping all day!
  • I went to Olive Garden!  My favorite!
  • A few of my friends threw a girls night for me and we danced-a lot!
  • I went to the Hunger Games premiere! It was so fun!
  • It is only Saturday, so I have a full weekend ahead of me!
  • The performing arts school accepted me.  Turns out that was the easy part.  Convincing my mom letting me go is the hard part.  My dad thinks it is a good idea, though.
  • Did I mention I TURNED SIXTEEN???

Ten Reasons Why:

I have been really thinking about school, with grades and registration these last two weeks.  I registered yesterday for next year's classes.  I am getting good grades... but I do not want to go to my high school.  My grandparents who live in St. George first put the thought in my head to go live with them and go to the performing arts high school last year when I stayed with them for two weeks.  At first I just blew off the idea because it sounded crazy.  Now, I want to go more than anything.  Here is why:

  1. It is a performing arts school  I am sure It will not be like on TV, but it does sound much more fun than a typical high school.  Besides, I am more artistic anyway for sure.
  2. It is so warm in St. George  I know I mentioned my hatred for the cold.
  3. I can navigate St. George better than anywhere else I have ever been, including my hometown.  When my aunt uncle and cousin take me, I can take them just about anywhere.
  4. It wouldn't cost any tuition.  It is a free school!
  5. I adore dancing.  I used to be on a dance team last year, before I took a break.
  6. I also love to sing in the shower...lessons could benefit anyone.
  7. My dad wants me to start acting again like I used to.  I was Tinkerbell in Peter Pan and Alice in Alice in Wonderland.  I loved to act before junior high school (the black hole of your life) ripped out any confidence I entered with.  Confidence returned.
  8. They focus on the arts.  Including drawing. Sound like me yet?
  9. St. George just makes me very happy.  I always seem to be happiest in St. George. It is relaxing, slow paced and small.  Just my style.
  10. This could be a fresh start for me ...and sometimes that seems like something I could use.
There really is not anything wrong with where I live currently. I have great friends and live in a great neighborhood.  It would be so sad to tell everyone goodbye.  But this is a once in  a lifetime chance.  Once I leave high school...I cannot go to a performing arts high school!  Maybe I sound crazy to some but oh my word!  I want this so bad.

School and Other Stressers.

With the end of term coming up, followed by a report or project in nearly every class, please excuse my absence from the blog.  It is a very stressful time for me.  Last week to get my permit, I had to do pre-range and range for a total of ten hours!  Gratefully, I passed.  As of right now, this quick post is my very last form of procrastination, because I just really do not want to do it.  With nothing else to say, I regretfully have to end this  post.  Wish me luck.

What I Wore: The prettiest backpack I ever did see

Happy birthday to me!  Lauren bought me a backpack!  Now, it isn't my birthday quite yet.  It is on the 23rd.  I have been without a backpack since December.  My original backpack broke.  Both straps were completely fell off.  For a while I just wore it with one strap.  Thank you so much Lauren!

Everyone loves my backpack at school.  They all say:  Hey!  I saw that!  It looks so cute, I think I will go buy it!  I don't really know how a girl expects another girl to react to this.  I have just been smiling on the outside, but on the inside I think: No! If more than a  couple people has the same backpack, what makes it special?  Like feathers.  They were cool when they first started showing up, but everyone had them.  It got overdone, and they aren't so cool anymore. It has been two days and probably thirty girls have said they are going to buy it.  Lets just hope no one actually buys it.

List of Ten: Birthday Wishes

Here is a wishlist of things that would be swell for my birthday!

  1. A blue Smash book and accessories!.  It is sort of like scrap booking, but not.  Maybe a mix of that and journaling. Either way, it is another way to document my life and craft!
  2. Vintage clothes, of course!
  3. Lomography camera!  Oh, how I would adore to own one!  This will be on a wishlist for the rest of my life.
  4. Lots of colors of yarn or vintage fabric!  I will  never have enough colors!
  5. Any form of craft, really.  I love to create, and I love to try anything new!
  6. Nonprescription glasses. I love them, but I was cursed with perfect eyesight!
  7. A nook or kindle. I read like a crazy person.
  8. Pop art camera  It is currently on sale for $5!
  9. Have yous seen those books with all of your blog posts in it?  I think it would be cool to get one with every year.  That could be from age fifteen and earlier!
  10. I am going on a limb here, but how about an old Ford truck?  A vintage convertible mustang?  No?

Getting Real- My Blog.

So, I am sure you noticed my blog's makeover.  If you didn't you need glasses. I was just getting so very frustrated with the last look, so I started over with a blank blog.  The old background and header weren't right for my liking.  I was really happy the new look!  The new header was the name of my vintage shop I am working on, and the colors were bright fun.  My mom told me that she liked it when blogs had music, so I tried that.  I will be the first to admit-Bad. Idea.  It drove me nuts.  Do not worry, it is gone.  The first thing I did every time I got onto my blog was mute it.

Adding on, I guess my new look was not as well loved as I had hoped, and people didn't like it as much as I did.  My mom and grandparents said that they liked the old one better.  Ouch.  I won't lie, that one comment hurt pretty bad.  I thought the blog looked amazing.  I was finally satisfied with it, and thought it did not need any more work.

I guess that I have realized that I just can't please everyone.  Everyone has their own opinion.  I will still be sad people do not love the blog.  So please forgive me if I mess around with the style some more.  Give it some time.  I do want people's opinions, but they will always be more welcome with more positive hints, I guess.  Once I get a new look, I really want to keep it though.  I hate changing it so much.  I want people to get associated with the look and to recognize it.  I am not sure what I am trying to say.  This just seems to be more of a venting post.  I am not asking for compliments.  I really do not want people's pity.  Let's just call this a diary page on my blog.

What I Wore: 3-5-12

Let us all admire my grandma's dress.  This is a favorite.  I do wear it, it's just...whenever I do- I do not get a picture.  So here it is!  I love its bright color and lace sleeves!

...but I never really wear it as a dress.
